For a while now we have been color deficient, a little pop here and there but for the most part, scurd scared of real color experience.  Well, this is it.  The 8o's revisited in all of it fabulous tie dyed, acid wash, neon CRAZY glory.

Neon colors are making an appearance in nail polish colors, lip sticks, they are on umbrellas, dresses, watches, accessories, and even on pets. And so, if you are prepared to stop traffic and stimulate eyeballs all around you, these fluorescent-colored fashions are the way go!

From high end and famous designers like Christian Louboutin, Chanel, Prada, and Michael Kors to middle rung and unknown designers, they all seem to be weighing in on this trend.  Shoes, bags and accessories with that unmistakable neon edge is showing up in stores all over the US and abroad which makes incorporating this look is so very easy.  And fun!  For those of us who are brave, really brave,...pants, dresses, blouses, jump suits and various other clothing are also available in just about every style imaginable.  So, feast your eyes and try this trend if you dare.

Fashion - In The Nude!

Aha, got ya didn't I? No, not naked people....NUDE COLORS. I have always liked them, even before they became a runway trend. Long before. I am so happy that finally these beautiful colors are getting the recognition and respect they deserve!

Nudes are so sophisticated, smart and darn versatile.  They are neutrals really.......and neutrals go with EVERYTHING.  Who wouldn't want that?  Nudes also come in so many different shades, there are no shortage of colors to keep you looking fabulous!  I personally love peach, pinks and creme tones because they are most flattering to my complexion but there are so many other color variations.

One of the advantages of wearing nude colors is the fact that it can actually trick the eye.  For example, if you wear nude shoes your legs look longer.  The same is true for fingernail polish, your fingers appear to be more slender and longer than with more vibrant polish. Try it, it works!

Layering different nude shades and textures also can create the most romantic, feminine and couture look......which I personally adore. So go ahead, choose a shade that flatters your  complexion and go nude this summer.  You're gonna love it!

Everything's Coming Up Roses

I love romance and though it may be a little cliche, to me, nothing says romance better than red roses.  I am getting ready to redecorate my bedroom and I fell in love with red rose pieces all over again. It is amazing how a rose here or there can change the feeling of a room. But what makes the red rose so sexy......why are they so intoxicating to the senses?  Well, as I have an inquiring mind, I did a little digging.  This is what I found.

The Red Rose not only carries more meaning than many other color roses, it is also one of the most universal of all symbols. The long history of the red rose makes it very significant. From being represented in countless works of Art to classical paintings, poetry, music and media the rose has endured. Not only throughout history but across many cultures and religions as well. The mystique of the red rose has been a source of immeasurable inspiration for many throughout the ages. However, it is as the symbol for love that the red rose is most commonly recognized.

The modern red rose we are now familiar with was introduced to Europe from China in the 1800's. The meanings associated with them however, can be traced back many centuries, even to some of the earliest societies.  In Greek and Roman mythology the red rose was closely tied to the goddess of love. Many early cultures used red roses to decorate marriage ceremonies and they were often a part of traditional wedding attire. Through this practice, the red rose became known as a symbol for love and fidelity. As the tradition of exchanging roses and other flowers as gifts of affection came into prevalence, the red rose naturally became the flower of choice for sending the strongest message of love. This is a tradition that has endured to the present day.

Now, who am I to mess with that.......I just can't wait to add some of these beautiful flowers to my decor.  Long live the rose!
