All salads Were Not Created Equal

One of my favorite foods is salads.  No kidding, I love 'em!  Perhaps it is the fact that there are so many types and ways one could make a salad.....I don't know.  All I know is, I love variety and salads do it for me.

And so this week I set out to find three salads that I have never tried before.  Salads that earned off the charts reviews.....and are not too difficult to make.   I like to keep it simple.  So here are the 3 nominees for scrumptious salads of  the week:  drum roll please.........

These first two by  www.thefoodiediaries.com will hit the spot for sure. So yummy!

Ingredients: baby spinach, mozzarella, roasted cherry tomatoes, red bell pepper,   onion, celery, cucumber and the dried cherry + pom concoction.

Ingredients: fresh spinach, roasted butternut squash, cauliflower, grilled onion and sun-dried tomatoes, dressed in Newman’s Own Asian Sesame dressing. You have to try this!

Now this one had me at custard, not to mention the recipe is by miss Paula Deen.  Oh my goodness....this looks so pretty I almost didn't want to eat it. ALMOST. Am so happy right now...so happy.

Find the recipe here.

And there you have it, 3 delicious recipes that will bring you lots of happiness and mad satisfaction.  I guarantee it!

Deals, Steals And Goodwill To All!

Okay, so I have to admit that this Goodwill thing is getting a wee bit out of hand.  And by that I mean I go there constantly, ahem, alright, the truth is, I stalk that site like a predator.  Sigh. I just can't help myself.  The deals are just too darn good to pass up!  Lately though, since I know this is my new go-to pass time, I have been making sure that I buy things ONLY for my Ebay business.  Cha-ching!  Goodwill is perfect for that, and I feel less guilt when I shop now because it's to turn a profit.....and it does.  Now all I have to figure out is when to stop buying.  Oh well, this may take some time.  Baby steps.

Here's a few of my buys for this week:

A huge 121b mystery bag of vintage jewelry.  I cant wait to see what's in there.  You have to be brave to do this though, especially when it is costing more than a few dollars.  I will update you on this purchase later but if my hunch is right, this could be a valuable lot of jewelry.

Next is a vintage Chanel scarf.  Hello! These things sell for hundreds of dollars so of course I just had to get it.

Now this may be a dud or it may be something I pat myself on the back for.  I don't know which yet but am praying it's the latter.  I am not a golf aficionado but sports memorabilia possibly signed by Tiger Woods seemed like a good gamble at the time so I took a calculated risk.

And then there were these beautiful pieces.  They are gorgeous and were made in Ireland by a company called Belleek. I did some research and they are worth a lot more than I paid for them. Score!

And finally here is my favorite buy of the week.  Of course it's Art.  I don't know why but I saw these paintings and it was love at first sight.  They are really special.

And there you have it, my Goodwill shopping spree in a nutshell minus my victory dance and screaming when I lost or won a bid.  Really exciting stuff!  For the rest of the week though am going to be a good girl but next week who knows what Goodwill and I will get into......

Growing Pains.....bah humbug!

If I had to describe this week in one word, that word would be

C-R-A-Z-Y

Crazy schedule.  Crazy emotional.  Crazy exciting.  Crazy tiring.

Now I am totally exhausted, like lay on the couch eating cheetos tired.

With all of the stuff happening around me though, I was forced to do something I had done only in part before.  That would be, surrender all to GOD.  I mean everything, and leave it!  As you know, if you are a believer, this is easier said than done.  There is a part deep inside of all of us that want to fix things, situations and even people....for some of us especially people.

As I grow and mature spiritually, I am realizing that I do NOT have to figure everything out myself.  I don't even have to understand it when bad/painful things happen to me.  I just have to believe and trust that GOD will work it out and that he knows what is best for me.

And so, for all of you chronic fixers and problem solvers, let go and let God.  Honestly, there is no better way to live.

Miami Nice!

The Miami Airlines Arena where the Miami Heat play their games.

Hola peeps! I cannot believe it has been two weeks since my last post.....I guess the saying is true "time waits for no one".  Well, I am back from a 13 day trip to Miami and it was truly an enriching experience.  I got to hang out with my besties, pig out on some really delicious food and take in what Miami has to offer which is a heck of a lot.  There was'nt a dull moment, no kidding.  While I was there there was even a cannibal attack...like what????  Yup, Miami is a happening spot...you name it and it happens there.  The good.  The bad.  And the ugly.  The good thing about it though is that Miami is so beautiful and the weather so nice that it is hard to dwell on the negatives.  It is hard to be sad on a beach sippin on pina coladas...just sayin.

It had been close to three years since I had left Miami to live in Atlanta so I was excited to see all of the development that had taken place since my departure of course I was thrilled to catch up with my friends.  These are some of the pictures I took on my trip.

                                                       Biscayne, my old stomping ground.

This is the freedom tower down town.  This building is absolutely amazing architecturally.

And here is the famous Bayside.  I love this place to hangout and shop.
They also have live bands and great entertainment there as well.

This giant bird sculpture really intrigued me.  It is located down town Miami.

This is a plate of the most delicious jerk chicken with rice and peas that I had EVER tasted.  Don't let the bad pics fool you, this was so yummy!  Oh and the drink was sooooo good too.  Shout out to Lorna's restaurant down town Miami.  Check them out if you are ever in the area.

Hangin out with my friend Pauline.  It was so nice to see her after such a long time.  I do not have any pics of my friend Devika with whom I spent most of my time this trip. Ha ha, we were so busy catching up we both forgot.

Goofing off in Miami...and why not?  It's fun!
